Cape, Botswana and Vic Falls photo essay by Dabney H
Nice to have met you last Sunday evening. We are back in California, re engaging with life. Thanks again for making a great vacation for us. You’re a true pro and we appreciate your work.
Tau Pan was magical. We had a great guide / driver. He listened to what his guests wanted to see and ask about. The dinners were fun, too. A slightly larger camp so more folks.
Kanana was like nothing I had imagined. It was amazing. I took the mokoro. Vicki did not.
Shinde was our favorite. We are water people (who live at the edge of the desert!) so the boat rides were thrilling. The hippos thrashing around our camp in the night was exciting.
The small groups are the key- I would have enjoyed this trip far less if I was packed in a van with 12 others.
Just being in the presence of the wildlife was so remarkable to us. We could have used the checklists provided but it really isn’t like that for us. I was not unhappy if I did not see a certain type of antelope each day.
As you will see by our photos, the plants, tree and landscapes are valuable components of the trip. The lions were awesome. But so was the geology lecture about the Okavango.
