An excellent trip to Botswana

We had an excellent trip! Jamie organized a great itinerary matching all we asked for, and was very responsive to all our questions.

Impossible to pick just one highlight! We saw an amazing number of animals and birds, had friendly and very knowledgeable guides at each lodge, enjoyed the company of fellow travelers from around the world, and found the Botswana people to be warm and welcoming.

We really enjoyed Botswana! Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were the only people in the one camp, due to another couple’s missed flight, so we had all 5 guys there taking care of us. The details were appreciated—all the staff greeted our arrival with drinks, warm towels to wash away the journey, and a native song of greeting. There were “bush babies” warming our bed at night, ample heated water for showers, and flannel lined ponchos to keep us warm in the boat on early morning trips.

We saw a lot of animals: elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, impala, red lesche, vervet monkeys and baboons to name just some, and many birds too.

Sekongo was great about getting us in place for good photos and identifying everything for us.

The food was good and plentiful, and the setting for the eating space had a beautiful view.

We had hippos grazing just outside our tent, (right by my head!) the first night. Then an elephant browsed all around the tent the next night, making quite a racket! Not great for sleep, but very exciting!
